Weekend Over :(

It was a good weekend. I did some scrapping today, the results of which you see above. It was nice to be home and relax this weekend. Last weekend I had to go to Moncton for work, so I was really only here on Sunday. This weekend was nice and quiet. Yesterday we went to Charlottetown. Today we had a monster of a BBQ - we had steak, chicken kabob, hot dogs, coleslaw, rolls, mushrooms and onions and potatoes. We both ate waaaaay tooo much. That was around 2:00, needless to say, we didn't have supper. After dinner, we took a nap!! It was great. And after our nap we went for ice cream at St. Elenors Dairy Bar. The weather has been great. It's light out until shortly after 8:00 PM. It's been warm and sunny. I must say, it was a really good winter here on PEI. Only a couple of snow storms, not a lot of snow that stuck around for any length of time. And I can't even remember many days with that bitter cold wind chill.
I discovered today as well that I have to take more pictures. I really have to start carrying my camera around with me all the time so that I capture more of those everyday moments and special events so that I have more to scrapbook.
I also made a new blog header for our wedding blog this weekend. I'm pretty happy with it. It includes a picture of us at the beach, and it is made out of what I am planning on having as my wedding colors: brown and blue, with some deep coral accents.
And I passed another kidney stone on Wednesday!! It first hit me on Monday at work. The pain in my back was pretty bad this time but by 2 PM it was calmed down. When I got home the pain came back, so I took a couple of pills to numb the pain, and they knocked me out and relaxed me enough for the stone to move along a little. I didn't even need to go to the hospital this time!! I was a little uncomfortable for the next couple of days, but not too bad overall. I have an appointment with a urologist on May 30th, so I'm really hoping I can get to the bottom of these stones. I really don't think it's normal that a 27 year old woman has had 6 or 7 stones already!!
Anyways, I guess that's enough for now. Bevan's down stairs watching wrestling, but The Sopranos comes on in half and hour, so he'll just have to miss an hour of wrestling!!

Fun Fact Friday

Hi everyone, here are some facts about me you may or may not be aware of:

1. I'm getting married on August 18, 2007!!!! This is my newest fact. I only got engaged on April 8th. Here is the link to my engagement story.

2. I love the color pink.

3. I really want a miniature dachsund, yes a weiner dog, and I want to name her Chili (as in Chili Dog!!). My sister has one named Frankie, and she is the cutest little thing in the world.

4. I'm not really the neatest person in the world. My scrapbook room is always a mess, and I will attest to the fact that Bevan does the majority of the cleaning around the house (and a damn fine job he does, too!!) I love him for it though!!

5. I'm a procrasinator!!! I was always like this in school, too, and I thought that once I finished university I'd be sooo much better. Guess what, I'm not!!!

6. I teach a card class every Friday morning at my local scrapbook store (and I usually only get my stuff ready for the class the night before, that's the procrastinator in me!!!).

7. I'm addicted to buying magazines. I always buy up every scrapbooking or cardmaking magazine that I don't subscribe to. And now with this wedding coming up, I'm addicted to wedding magazines!!

8. Even though I'm not the tidy type, I'm pretty organized. I like to know where everything is at. I have a little planner that I would be lost without. In my scrapbook room, everything has a particular place I like it to be and when it's not there, I can't find it!!

9. I have a pet Hedgehog named Herbie. We've had him for almost 2 years now.

10. My new favorite CD is Michael Buble.

Happy Easter Weekend

Hi everyone. Just a quick post. I'm home in Pictou for easter weekend. We left Summerside right after work on Thursday. It's nice to be home, but I didn't realize how much I did NOT miss the smell of Scott Paper, or whatever it's called now, I think it's Neenah paper or something like that. After living here for 25 years I guess I got used to it, but now that I've been away for a while and only here once in a while, the smell is hitting me like a ton of bricks. And I'm not getting used to it at all, my super sensitive nose is once again my worst enemy. Anyways, I probably won't post any pictures while I'm home, but I'll update when I get back to Summerside. Happy Easter!

Some More Stuff About Me!!

chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate, without a doubt.
sandals or barefoot? Both. I just hate wearing shoes and socks. I usually break out the flip flops shortly after the snow is gone
basic grey or scenic route? Basic Grey, but only because it is more readily available where I live.
primas or HS flowers? Both, but for different reasons. I love primas on my cards, plus they come in really cute bottles sometimes. But I love HS flowers on my Layouts, especially the really big ones.
computer journaling or handwritten? Handwritten, it's just more personal.
Madonna or Gwen Stefani? I used to like Madonna when I was younger, but now I prefer Gwen Stefani. I loved No Doubt.
Leno or Conan? Probably Conan
Koolaid or Crystal Lite? Koolaid, but only when Bevan makes it, I can never get the proportions right, and it never tastes as good.
American Idol or Amazing Race? Amazing Race for sure. and I love it even more now that it's on earlier and on Wednesday nights.
catlover or doglover? Neither really, but I do love my sister's dog Frankie, she's a miniature weiner dog, and now I really want one for myself!!

I'm Engaged!!

Sorry, long time since I posted again, but this time I have wonderful, exciting news to share - I'm Engaged!! It all happened on Saturday, April 8th. I was going to a card class at the scrapbook store, and was going to be there for 9:00. Bevan drove me over so that he could keep the car. He helped me carry my stuff inside, then he was going to come upstairs with me to help me pick out paper for something I was going to make for him. Carolyn told me she had been working on a couple of new layouts and they were on her desk up there. So I headed up the stairs to see them with Bevan right behind me. The first layout that caught my eye was the one she had been working on the day before. Then I looked at the next one:
I was soooooo shocked. I had nooooo idea. I remember repeating "Oh My God" a number of times, and Bevan tells me that at one point I said something with the word no in it, which he was nervous might be my answer to his question. I was soooo nervous to turn around to see him. When I did finally turn around he was down on one knee on the floor behind me with the ring box open in his hand!! I get butterflies every single time I think about it!!! I remember him asking me, and I can't remember if I answered right away, I think I may have been in shock!!, but I eventually said "yes". He put the ring on my finger. Carolyn and Michelle were there with cameras. They knew the night before, because Bevan had to drop the layout off at the shop. They had gotten us a beautiful flower arrangement and an engagement card and a few bridal magazines. It was such a great day. I will never, ever forget it. That night we went to Charlottetown to go out for dinner. We went to the Selkirk at the Delta and had their pasta buffet (yummy). I've pretty much been on Cloud 9 ever since, and I just can't stop looking at my ring!! It is a tiny bit too big, so it will have to be sized, and I'm dreading going without it for any length of time!!

Another great scrapbooking weekend.

Well, 2 weekends in a row, we stayed here in Summerside, didn't have to go anywhere, had nothing we had to do, it's been great!! I got to scrapbook as much as I wanted. I've come to a realization. I really have a preference for pages with just one picture. For example, here is the first page I did this weekend.

It has one picture. I like one picture. I must admit, this is a very different page for me. I'm not sure I'm crazy about it, but I do like it. So, next I decided to work on scrapbooking some pictures from our trip to CKU and NYC and some pictures I had of Frankie and Abby playing when we were home a couple of weeks ago. I went into my book of scraps at Two Peas to get inspiration for a page with 3 or 4 pictures, and there were none there!! All of the pages that I've saved because I like them were 1 picture layouts. So I went looking in a some magazines, and came up with this:

I'm really happy with it, but this picture doesn't really do it justice. I really have to learn to scan and stitch my layouts. I'm having a great time with the scrapbooking, and I'm not done yet, it's only 1 pm on Sunday, I still have hours. This time change is really messing me up though!!

Bevan and I went to see "Inside Man" last night. It was a pretty good movie, but not excellent. Jodie Foster's character bothered me, she kind of just added more confusion to the movie. Denzel Washington was pretty much the same as he is in every movie. Clive Owen was great. I've really liked him ever since I saw him in "Derailed." Bevan's review of Inside Man really sums it up well, check it out.

In other news, the weather has been really great lately, with the exception of last night and today, when it rained. It's been around 10 degrees. We broke out the BBQ for the first time this year on Wednesday. We had BBQ'd pork chops with rice and I had some veggies. Here are some pictures of our first bbq this year:

Thanks to my bbq genius (yes, that's you Bevan), it was a fantastic meal. I'm hoping for a repeat performance with today's supper of chicken and ribs - I'll let you know how it went. Now that the bbq has been used once, we'll be using it quite a bit hopefully. I'm just remembering how my parents had bought us that bbq when we first moved to PEI. They brought it over in the moving truck without us knowing, and set it up and surprised us - it was great. Gotta love surprises!!!

A New Toy

Well, I broke down today and bought myself this wonderful photo printer. I never had one in the past, because I thought with all the cheap digital photo developing out there at stores, who needs one?? Well, today I decided I did. I'm justifying my purchase as a scrapbooking need. I hate it when I get home with my pictures and wish I would have gotten one developed as a 5 x 7 instead of a 4 x 6, or I with I'd done that one in color rather than black and white or vice versa. I bout the Canon PIXMA ip 4200. Nothing too fancy, just the basics. I liked this one because it can print 4 x 6, 5 x 7, or 8 x 10. I've tried it out, and so far, I LOVE it. So much fun to be able to scrapbook any picture, at any time, even if it's only 5 minutes after I take the picture. Anyways, enough blabbing on about it.
Not much else is new. Clocks "spring ahead" tonight. That's kind of crappy, because that means it will be darker in the morning now, and I've been thoroughally enjoying the light coming in my window at 6:15 when I get out of bed. Hopefully it won't take long for it to be that way again.
I've made a couple of new cards and a new scrapbook page so far this weekend, I'll post them later on, I promise.
